Nozawa Onsen Snow Resort rises from 565 m at the Karasawa base to 1,650 m at the Yamabiko area. The village of Nozawa Onsen, in Nagano Prefecture, sits at the foot of the ski area.
The southern part of the resort hosted the biathlon events at the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics.
